Error 1: "DSC Token Not Detected" in Google Chrome / Edge

Why this happens: Google Chrome version 98+ introduced Private Network Access (PNA) security, which blocks websites on public domains (like mpeproc.gov.in or gst.gov.in) from communicating with your local USB token server at 127.0.0.1:1585.

The Exact 3-Step Fix:

  1. Copy and paste this URL into your Chrome address bar: chrome://flags/#block-insecure-private-network-requests
  2. Change the setting from Default to Disabled.
  3. Now open chrome://flags/#allow-insecure-localhost and set it to Enabled.
  4. Press Relaunch at the bottom of Chrome. Your token will now be detected instantly!

Error 2: "User PIN Blocked" / Token Locked (Ctrl + Alt + W Trick)

Why this happens: Entering an incorrect PIN 5 times locks the hardware cryptographic chip permanently to protect against theft. Under Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) regulations, Admin PIN unblocking is disabled.

How to Reset Watchdata ProxKey:

  1. Plug in your Watchdata ProxKey and launch the WD PROXKey desktop application.
  2. On your keyboard, simultaneously press Ctrl + Alt + W.
  3. A hidden Admin menu option will appear on the left panel.
  4. Click on Admin ➔ Initialize Token.
  5. Confirm the factory reset. The token PIN will reset back to the default 12345678.
  6. Note: Initializing wipes the old certificate. You can then re-download your active certificate or apply for a fresh token with Webdoid.

Error 3: "Failed to Establish Connection to the Server" (emSigner Error)

Why this happens: This error occurs on GST, Income Tax, or MP PWD tender portals when the emSigner service is blocked by a port conflict (another application using port 1585 or 8080) or when 64-bit Java is installed instead of 32-bit JRE.

Resolution Checklist:

  1. Right-click the emSigner desktop icon and select "Run as administrator".
  2. Open Windows Services (press Windows + R, type services.msc), find Smart Card service, and ensure it is Running.
  3. Open Configure Java from Start Menu ➔ Go to Security tab ➔ Click Edit Site List ➔ Add https://127.0.0.1:1585 and your tender portal URL.
